EVERY PERSON IS A NEW DOOR TO A DIFFERENT WORLD. WELCOME TO MY WORLD.

Red Ribbon Day.

December 1st is here already and I've nothing new for you! GRRRRRR!! I've been so busy with the Thanksgiving season, first time band recitals, prepping for a party while trying to figure out Christmas decorations, & spending quality time with the sailor while he was on his 7 off that I just haven't had time to find and create a special post for today. Today can't just be any ole stuff, it's December 1st for pete's sake!! Today is AIDS Awareness Day, or also referred to as Red Ribbon Day. Since I haven't anything new to post, I'd like to share my post from last December.

"Being a blog about sex I thought it only appropriate to dedicate today's post to those living with HIV or AIDS. I would also encourage everyone to, at some point today, take a moment and remember those who have passed from AIDS or complications due to AIDS.

The red ribbon is an international symbol of AIDS awareness that is worn by people all year round and particularly on World AIDS Day to demonstrate care and concern about HIV and AIDS.

Started on the 1st of December 1988, World AIDS Day is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things that can still be done.

While sex without a condom feels amazing please always be careful and only practice unprotected sex with those whom you know are not HIV+ (and have no STD's). If you're unsure please don't hesitate to protect yourself. Your life is too precious to gamble with. HIV is not prejudice, it doesn't care what sex you are, or what sex your partner is. Everyone is susceptible to HIV.

Show your support, especially today, and wear a red ribbon. I have mine on, do you?"

Now because it's Saturday, here's my Red for Dogably Pawfect Saturday. He is now just over a year old (oct. 5th was his b'day) and he weighs in at 71.9 pounds! I sure hope he's done growing!!

Last year:

This year:

Note the tennis ball in each photo... and the size of it compared to Red... Truth be told he can put two tennis balls in his mouth. Somewhere I have a video of it... key word somewhere...

Have a wonderful weekend and be sure to wear your Red Ribbon!! Not just today but throughout the year.

Kisses

  1. Yes! While we remember those who have passed through AIDS, we must also think of those living with HIV AIDS, especially uin countries where medical help and medications are limited or even not available at all.
